Welcome to Christ the King Episcopal Church!

A small church with a HUGE heart, we are located in beautiful North Lakeland, in the Heart of Central Florida.

CTK is associated with the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida, lead by our Bishop, Greg Brewer.

We are a Real-Life Community Church - humans living human lives, making mistakes, experiencing triumphs and joys, doing the best we can with what we've been given, finding our next steps towards Jesus and helping others do the same. We are a balance between the traditional and the modern - sharing the ageless truth.

Each Sunday you will experience wonderful, uplifting worship music, and inspirational messages from our Priest in Charge, Mother Carolyn Biggs. Come join us for glorious worship, and soak in the love of God's words!

We guarantee you will leave refreshed and inspired!

Nursery Care is provided for children under the age of 5.

Please sign in your child at the nursery window, and pick up your child in time for Holy Communion.

Sunday School is provided for children ages 5-11.

Children are excused after the worship music. The teachers will return them to the sanctuary in time for Holy Communion.

In early 1984, Bishop William Folwell issed a call for a new mission effort, along charismatic lines, in North Lakeland. Organizational meetings were held at the home of Richard and Katherine Munday. The new mission began meeting Sunday evenings at the Holiday Inn near I-4, and later at Padgett Elementary School.

Fr. Hugh Elton "Bud" Williams (formerly of All Saints Episcopal Church in downtown Lakeland) was appointed

Priest-in-Charge. Several families, who had been influenced by the Renewal at All Saints', signed up.

On August 16, 1984, 26 pioneers signed a petition signifying their support, and Christ the King was born, although at first

it was simply referred to as the NLM, or North Lakeland Mission.

On October 15, 1987, Christ the King was consecrated by Bishop Folwell. By now, the membership had grown to 87.

CTK officially became a parish on January 25, 1991, with a membership of 125.
